In 1988, it expanded its borders to South America, opening its first factory in Brazil and, starting in 2003, consolidating its position as Konica Minolta Business Solutions do Brasil, a company with an administrative office in São Paulo, headquarters in Manaus and branches in Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Recife and Vitoria. According to Takahito Mitsuhashi, president of Konica Minolta Business Solutions do Brasil, there are plans to expand these branches in the coming years.

Mitsuhashi has been strongly focused on customer satisfaction, with a strong share in the digital production printing (PP) market enabling the company’s net sales to grow to about 15 percent per year since 2011.

“As a leader of the PP market for eight consecutive years, we strive to maintain that level by delivering innovative value to our customers through our industrial printing technology (IP), hybrid solutions and also preserving the high quality of our post-sales services,” Mitsuhashi said.

Looking to the future, the company is betting on the IP market in Brazil and has expanded its portfolio to cover digital label printing solutions.

In addition, it is investing in the construction of a new DIS (Digital Imaging Square) for 2020 to underline its commitment to customers in the professional production and industrial printing markets. The new center of excellence gives customers a hands-on experience through live demonstrations and a world of printing ideas.

“Konica Minolta Business Solutions do Brasil believes in the potential of the Brazilian economy to grow,” Mitsuhashi said. “And so we are prepared and excited to grow together with the country, contributing to our customers through our core values, delivering quality technology, customer service and support.”

Since its establishment in 1873, Konica Minolta has expanded its business in office equipment, optical systems for industrial use and diagnostic imaging systems around the world.

In Hungary, Konica Minolta Hungary Business Solutions Ltd. is on a mission to expand the company’s footprint through its warehouse and regional distribution center (RDC) facility in Hungary.

“Konica Minolta’s RDC investment was established in Hungary in 2012 to better serve customers in the local market and across the region,” said Daniel Szekely, managing director of Hungary, Serbia and Greece.

“Today, the 9,200 square-meter RDC delivers supply- chain solutions to 14 countries across the region — this investment represents the company’s early commitment to developing its business in Hungary and further afield.”

Serving other markets from its base in Hungary, the company is expanding operations and launching new services and products such as Konica Minolta’s Workplace Hub.

The Workplace Hub connects different technologies to better serve customers’ needs. As one complete system that adapts to client requirements, the Workplace Hub provides freedom, ease and the ultimate power to unlocking clients’ potential. Products and services are at the heart of Konica Minolta’s operations in Hungary, where the company has 170 employees.

“We constantly invest in our employees as they are at the heart of our business and our engagements with customers,” said Szekely.

“Continued, regional collaboration with other Konica Minolta companies is enabling us to gain market share, build the Konica Minolta brand in Europe and better serve our customers,” Szekely said.

“We intend to meet our customers’ business needs by delivering more RDC service points to better serve customers, reach out to Italy and the Baltic region and look at further integration opportunities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as we work with our existing and future partners.”

Taiwan Toshiba International Procurement Corporation (TTIP) is committed to the continued development of Taiwan’s vibrant technology sector.

Initially established in 2001 to handle procurement and production control of Toshiba’s consumer electronics assembly both in Taiwan and mainland China, TTIP has evolved — much like Taiwan’s technology sector.

Key manufacturing industries in Taiwan are developing in-line with global demand and most suppliers have shifted their consumer electronics product-assembly requirements to Southeast Asia.

With this trend set to continue, TTIP is focused on delivering innovative and advanced solutions and technologies.

In 2018, Toshiba Group, Japan, announced its intention to focus on four primary business activities: social infrastructure, energy, electronic devices and digital solutions.

Today, these four business units are a good fit within the Taiwanese government’s technology-driven 5+2 Major Innovative Industries policy.

As Taiwan strengthens its international role in next-generation technology development, TTIP’s restructuring and transference of resources has allowed the company to focus on areas such as the “internet of things” and artificial intelligence.

“We believe Taiwan is well-positioned on the global stage to become a leading player in the development of future technologies,” said Masao Daira, TTIP president.

“As with our engineers in Japan, our team here in Taiwan is extremely skilled. We made a decision to ensure our Taiwanese workforce is fluent in Japanese and this has led to strong communication and collaboration between departments.”

Daira is committed to strengthening TTIP’s role as a bridge and facilitator between Japan and Taiwan. “I enjoy working and living in Taiwan and my experiences have led me to believe that Japan and Taiwan have a great deal in common,” shared Daira.

“TTIP will play a role in contributing to this unique relationship while continuing to support our Toshiba businesses across the region in the development of industry-leading technologies.”

As a global technology leader, Toshiba is driving industry solutions in data security and automation.
Headquartered in Breda, the Netherlands, Toshiba Information Systems (TIS) Benelux (PC division) operates as aregional sales and marketing office for Toshiba Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

“Last year we launched the Toshiba mobile-zero-client; TMZC, an innovative and fully mobile personal notebook computer (PC) devoid of storage capabilities or indeed an operating system”, says Ronal Ravel, Business Unit Director of TIS Benelux.

“This allows users to work on sensitive projects without storing information on the device and ensures data cannot be stolen or lost”.

Toshiba’s ‘dynaEdge’ mobile computing device, launched earlier this year, is the world’s first ‘Windows 10’ based mobile device. The ‘phone’ sized PC is designed to bring hands-free capabilities to enterprises through assisted-reality ‘smart-glasses’ or a ‘smart-helmet’.

“One of the key deliverables of ‘dynaEdge’ is the ‘you see what I see’ concept”, explains Martin Jansen, Toshiba Benelux’s product manager.

“The device enables experts to see the same view as the user and therefore assist them remotely. The combination of the device itself and the ‘wearable-tech’ allows for faster and more accurate calculations and processes”.

The ‘Internet of Things’ model combined with data protection and privacy law concerns are driving Ravel and his team to deliver tailored-solutions to clients across BENELUX (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg).

“We are providing customers with the best Toshiba has to offer in terms of cutting-edge business-solutions”, says Ravel. “Our clients demand greater innovations and we are committed to delivering greater efficiency, mobility and security”.
